MSI has introduced the new Katana 15 HX (2026) gaming laptop, bringing updated hardware and a redesigned chassis aimed at gamers seeking strong performance in a more portable package. The laptop pairs Intel’s Core i7-14650HX processor with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, offering a combination designed for modern gaming and demanding workloads.
Slimmer Design, Improved Cooling
Compared to the previous generation, the latest Katana 15 HX features a slimmer and lighter design. MSI says the chassis is over 10% thinner while also reducing overall weight, making the laptop easier to carry without sacrificing gaming performance.
To keep temperatures under control, MSI equips the system with a cooling solution that includes:
- Three heat pipes
- Dual cooling fans
- Four exhaust vents
According to the company, the thermal system is capable of supporting up to 170W of combined performance output during intensive gaming sessions.
15.6-Inch QHD Display with 165Hz Refresh Rate
The laptop features a 15.6-inch QHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate, providing smoother visuals for competitive gaming and fast-moving content. The panel also covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, making it suitable for content creation and media consumption.
Gamers will also find a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard with 1.7mm key travel, offering a responsive typing and gaming experience.

The Katana 15 HX comes configured with:
